Muah AI vs Candy AI: Which Adult AI Companion Should You Pay For?
Muah AI and Candy AI both promise adult chat with pictures. One has better images and a cleaner privacy record; the other gives you more control...
Most people don't leave Candy AI because it's bad. They leave because of one specific thing: the token bill, the memory, the refund window or the missing app. Here are ten alternatives sorted by problem.
People don't usually abandon Candy.ai because the pictures look fake. The pictures are the reason most people sign up. They leave because of something on the bill or in the chat.
So a plain list of alternatives is useless. What you need is the platform that fixes the thing that annoys you. Below, ten alternatives organized by complaint, with the prices written on the pricing pages and the fine print nobody reads until it's too late.
We haven't tested any of these ourselves. We read the pricing pages, the refund policies and the user reports. We rate Candy.ai 9.8 out of 10, and you can read the full breakdown in our Candy.ai review.
Candy AI Premium is $13.99 a month, or $3.99 a month on annual billing, and it comes with 100 tokens. That's the sticker. The real cost depends on what you do with those tokens.
So 100 tokens is roughly 25 images or 8 short videos. Extra tokens start at $9.99 per 100. One creator, Nastia, argues the real monthly cost for an active user runs $30 to $50, not $12.99, and calls it a token trap. Independent reviewers put active Candy AI users somewhere between $25 and $60 a month. Either way, it's not the number on the signup page.
That's the main reason people go looking. Here's where to go instead.
| Platform | Best for | Price from | Free plan | Native app |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Secrets AI | Memory and voice calls | $9.17/month annual | 20 messages/day | No, web app |
| OurDream AI | Most media for the money | $9.99/month annual | Pay-per-message chat, no media | No, web app |
| Nomi | Long-term memory on mobile | $8.33/month annual | Yes, limited messages | iOS and Android |
| Kindroid | Customization and voice | $13.33/month annual | Yes, limited | iOS and Android |
| SpicyChat | Huge free character library | $5.95/month | Free chat with queue | Android |
| JanitorAI | Free story roleplay | Free; Janitor+ $12.99/month | Full platform free, uncensored | No |
| Nastia | Flat pricing, group chats | $11.99/month per Nastia | Daily limits | Not verified |
| Kupid AI | Voice and images on one plan | $13.99/month | Limited | Not verified |
| FantasyGF | Cheap annual, voice calls | $5.83/month annual, reported | Limited | Not verified |
| Candy AI (reference) | Photorealistic images | $3.99/month annual | 5 messages | No, web app |
| Reason to leave | Best alternatives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Token costs | OurDream AI, Nastia | Unlimited chat plus a large coin allowance; flat plans |
| Weak memory | Secrets AI, Nomi | Layered memory built for long relationships |
| Strict refunds | Nomi, Kindroid | App store billing through Apple or Google |
| 5-message free tier | JanitorAI, SpicyChat | Free chat with no hard monthly caps |
| No native app | Nomi, Kindroid | Native iOS and Android apps |
OurDream AI is the closest thing to a straight answer on cost. Annual billing is $9.99 a month ($119.88 a year), monthly is $19.99. That includes unlimited chat plus 1,000 dreamcoins.
What 1,000 dreamcoins buys: about 200 images or about 10 short clips, and videos run up to 60 seconds. Compare that to Candy AI's 25 images on a standard plan and the math is not close.
The fine print, though. Characters cost 10 dreamcoins each. If your subscription lapses, your images get blurred. Refunds are denied once you've used more than 25% of the purchase, and crypto payments are final. The homepage claims end-to-end encryption, but the privacy policy says server-side and allows training on your data. Read our OurDream AI review before you commit to a year.
Nastia is $11.99 a month, or $15.99 for the Unlimited tier, and the company says there's no per-image charge. You pay per Nastia, meaning each companion is a separate line item. It claims group chats with up to 10 companions, voice cloning and HD uncensored video.
Those are the vendor's claims. We can't verify them independently, and memory and video quality are the two things least documented by users. The free plan has daily limits. Treat the marketing as marketing until you've spent a month on it.
| Platform | Credits included | Approx media per month | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Candy AI | 100 tokens | ~25 images or 8 short videos | From $9.99 per 100 tokens |
| Secrets AI | 8,000 Moments | ~160 images or 13 adult videos | Top-ups for subscribers |
| OurDream AI | 1,000 dreamcoins | ~200 images or 10 short clips | Coin packs for subscribers |
| Nomi | Credit packs | Depends on pack | From $4.99 for 40 credits |
| FantasyGF | 100 tokens, reported | Roughly Candy AI territory | From $9.97 per 100 tokens |
Note what this table says about FantasyGF. At $5.83 a month on annual billing (reported) it looks like the cheap escape from Candy AI. But it still runs on tokens, reportedly 100 a month, and extra packs start at $9.97. You've changed the logo, not the model. If tokens are the complaint, FantasyGF isn't the fix.
Testers report Candy AI storylines resetting after two to three days. Nastia claims context breaks down past 10 to 15 messages, though that's a competitor's claim and unconfirmed. If you want a companion that remembers your job, your ex and the name of your dog, you need a platform built around memory.
Secrets AI is the memory-first pick. Premium is $19.99 a month or $109.99 a year, which works out to about $9.17 a month, and includes 8,000 Moments. An image costs 50 Moments, an adult video 600, a voice call 50 per minute. That's roughly 160 images a month, or 13 adult videos.
The first custom character is free. The Ultimate tier at $39.99 a month adds group chats, personas and proactive messages. The free plan gives you 20 messages a day with basic memory and no Moments.
Watch the fine print: monthly Moments don't roll over, and subscriptions are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise. EU and UK users get a 14-day withdrawal right. The company claims AES-256 encryption at rest. Our Secrets AI review goes deeper on where the memory holds up and where it doesn't.
Nomi is the mobile answer. It's $15.99 a month through the App Store, $39.99 a quarter, or $8.33 a month billed yearly. There's a free tier that doesn't need a credit card, and native iOS and Android apps, which Candy AI doesn't have at all. Credits start at $4.99 for 40.
Paying users consistently praise the Mind Map memory. The weak spot is plot; Nomi is better at remembering you than at running a story. In 2026 an image update changed how existing companions looked, and restoring the old look cost credits. If you've had the same companion for a year, that stings.
For a direct head-to-head on the $14-a-month question, see Joi AI vs Candy AI.
Candy AI refunds only within 24 hours, and only if you've used 20 tokens or fewer. That's a narrow window. Unused tokens also expire when you cancel.
Kindroid bills through the App Store at $15.99 a month or $13.33 a month annually, with Ultra and Max tiers above that. Billing through Apple or Google means you're dealing with their refund process, not a support inbox that has already decided against you.
Kindroid is the customization pick. You write the backstory and traits yourself. There are no community characters to browse, which is either the point or a dealbreaker. Selfies cost 50 credits for $6.99, and extra companion slots cost extra. Visuals are paid on top of the subscription, so the sticker price isn't the whole bill. It also has one of the higher App Store ratings in this category.
Same logic. App Store billing, free tier to start, no credit card required before you know whether you like it. If a strict refund policy is what pushed you off Candy AI, start with platforms that route money through an app store.
Candy AI's free tier is five messages total, one character, one image. That's a demo, not a free plan.
JanitorAI is fully free, including its own model. Janitor+ at $12.99 a month, starting June 2026, adds five times the context and priority messages. The company told Forbes in May 2026 it has about 2.5 million daily users.
The trade-offs: no image, video or voice generation. You can plug in your own API key if you want to run it your way. Setup takes more effort than Candy AI's three-tap start. For pure text roleplay with no monthly cap, though, nothing else in this article comes close on price.
SpicyChat offers free chat with a queue at busy times, over 100,000 community characters, and a claimed 100 million registered users. Paid tiers are $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month following a September 2026 price rise. The cheapest tier has short memory, and there's no video generation. Quality varies wildly by character because users write them. Android has an app.
GirlfriendGPT is SpicyChat's sister site with plans from $15 a month. Same company, different skin.
| Platform | Free plan gives | Message limits |
|---|---|---|
| JanitorAI | Whole platform including own model | No hard caps |
| SpicyChat | Unlimited chat with community characters | Queue at busy times |
| Secrets AI | All companions, basic memory | 20 messages/day |
| Nomi | Chat, no credit card to start | Limited messages |
| Nectar AI | Chat and some generations, reported | 15 messages/day |
| Candy AI | One character, one image | 5 messages total |
None of these free tiers give you free NSFW images at any volume. Free means text.
Premium is $13.99 a month ($84 a year). Ultimate is $49 a month ($588 a year), and there's a $777 lifetime plan. Voice and images sit on one plan. That lifetime price is a big upfront bet on a small company. If Kupid shuts down in year two, you've paid $777 for a year of service.
$19.95 a month, or $6.65 a month on yearly billing. It includes 500 tokens a month for images. Cheap annually, pricey monthly.
Free plan gives 15 messages and 10 generations a day, per reports. At moderate use, credits run $60 to $75 a month. That's the most expensive realistic figure in this article. Fine for light use, brutal for heavy use.
Plans from $5.99 a month up to a $199.99 tier. The spread tells you the cheap tier is limited.
Free plan details are inconsistent across the site and no prices are published on the page. Skip it until they publish numbers.
Worth naming so you don't waste time: Character.AI does not allow NSFW chat. It's a different product for a different purpose.
If what you actually want is images, the general-purpose generators are cheaper and better. They also ban adult content. Midjourney and Canva don't allow it, so they're not Candy AI alternatives in the way you mean. Promptchan is an image and video generator from $14.99 a month if visuals are all you need.
No platform in this article offers end-to-end encryption for chats. Not one. OurDream's homepage claims it, but its privacy policy says server-side and permits training on your data. Candy AI says de-identified chats may be used to train models. Secrets AI claims AES-256 at rest, which protects the disk, not the conversation from the company.
If privacy is the real reason you're leaving, the honest answer is local. KoboldCpp runs open-weight models on your own hardware. It's more work, the quality is lower, and you're on your own for support. But nothing leaves your machine.
Otherwise: pay by card, not crypto. Crypto payments are generally final, and you lose any refund route. Read the privacy policy of any platform before you type anything identifying into it.
Four things. Published prices, taken from the pricing page rather than a review from two years ago. Credit allowances, converted into what they actually buy. Refund and cancellation terms, because that's where the money hides. And free tier limits, because five messages isn't a trial.
No platform paid for inclusion. There are no affiliate links in this article. Scores change as prices and policies change, which is why we write them as a live figure rather than a number frozen in a paragraph.
Don't leave Candy AI for a vague reason. Name the complaint and match it.
Start monthly. Test the memory for a week before you pay for a year. Read the refund terms before you pay anything. And if you're still weighing the two most common starting points, our best AI companion app by use case guide breaks it down by what you actually do with it.
It depends on your complaint. Secrets AI is the pick for memory, and OurDream AI gives you far more images for less at $9.99 a month on annual billing. Both keep realistic visuals, and both have fine print worth reading before you commit.
JanitorAI is fully free for text roleplay, and SpicyChat offers free chat with a queue at busy times. Neither gives you free NSFW images, so if visuals are the point, free won't cover it.
Nomi and Kindroid both have native iOS and Android apps. Candy AI, Secrets AI and OurDream AI are browser-only web apps, which is one of the more common reasons people switch.
Secrets AI and Nomi are the two most cited by reviewers and user communities. Secrets AI builds memory into its Moments system, while Nomi's Mind Map gets consistent praise from paying users.
All the main picks here allow adult NSFW chat except Character.AI, which prohibits it. Most require 18+ confirmation, and none offer end-to-end encryption for chats.
