OurDream AI Review: Unlimited Roleplay, Cheap Images, Expensive Fine Print

Verdict first

OurDream AI is a legitimately operated platform. Dream Studio USA, Inc. is a Delaware corporation with a Dover address, a published terms of service, a privacy policy, a refund policy and a help center that lists coin costs line by line. You will not wake up one morning and find your card charged by a shell company in the Seychelles.

What you get for the money is a lot of generated media. The annual plan works out to $9.99 per month, and it includes unlimited chat plus 1,000 dreamcoins monthly, which is roughly 200 images. If images and short videos are why you're here, that's the best deal in this category we've looked at. We rate OurDream AI 9.7 out of 10.

What you don't get is reliable long-term memory, an honest encryption claim, or a refund policy that holds together under scrutiny. More on all three below.

What OurDream AI actually is

OurDream AI is a browser-based, 18+ roleplay and companion platform. You pick a character from a community library or build your own, then chat in text. Subscribers can generate images inside the chat or in a separate generator, make videos up to 60 seconds, place voice calls and run group scenes with several characters at once.

The company markets "unlimited AI roleplay" and claims more than 11 million characters on the homepage. Treat that number the way you'd treat any homepage number. The library is large enough that you'll find something, and the character builder is genuinely deep, which matters more than the counter.

It's web-only. There is no iOS or Android app. You add ourdream.ai to your home screen and it behaves like an app. Skip any APK you find floating around; there is no official one.

Character builder and library

This is where OurDream earns its keep. The builder goes well past a name and a one-line personality. You can define appearance, backstory, speech style and scenario, in realistic or anime style, and publish the result publicly if you want other people to use it. Male and female companions are both supported.

Creating a chatbot costs 10 dreamcoins. Subscribers can buy community packs for 250, 750 or 1,000 coins, and those packs are the main reason to keep coins in reserve. The community library is the fast path; the builder is the reason to stay.

We rate customization 10 out of 10. It's the strongest part of the product alongside the image generator.

Image generation

OurDream runs several image models, including ones it calls Vivid and Dreamy. Realistic and anime styles both work, and in-chat images render without leaving the conversation. You can enhance or edit an existing image for 10 to 20 coins depending on the tool.

Independent reviewers consistently rank the image quality near the top of the category, and the pricing backs that up: 10 coins per two standard images is cheap enough that a 1,000-coin month goes a long way. Our images score is 10 out of 10.

One limit worth knowing: you can't upload your own photos to replicate a real person. The platform blocks real-person likeness uploads and deepfakes. That's a good rule, but it also means no "make a character that looks like this photo of me" workflow.

Video generation

Video is the expensive part and the reason the annual plan is worth considering. Standard video runs 100 coins per 5 seconds. A full 60-second clip costs 1,200 coins, which is more than a subscriber's entire monthly allowance. Ultra-quality video is 200 coins, enhancing video is 50 coins per 5 seconds, and adding audio costs 20 coins per second.

So the realistic math: on the $9.99/month annual plan you can make about ten short 5-second clips a month, or blow the whole allowance on one long one with sound. The output quality holds up against Candy.ai, and the 60-second ceiling is longer than most competitors offer. We rate video 9.9 out of 10.

Voice and group chat

Voice calls cost 50 dreamcoins per minute, which is the single most expensive thing on the menu after long videos. Premium-voice narration in chat is cheaper at 5 coins per paragraph. Voice messages are supported.

Group chat and multi-character roleplay work, and they're included in the subscription rather than locked behind a higher tier, which is not true everywhere. We rate voice 7.9 out of 10. It functions; it just isn't cheap.

Chat quality and memory

Reviewers describe the chat as coherent and in-character, and the optional Genius and Lively Genius models cost 1 coin per response if you want a step up from the default. Standard subscriber chat costs zero coins, so you're never counting messages. That's a real advantage over platforms that meter every reply.

Memory is the weak spot. Independent tests find that OurDream leans mostly on recent message history, so long story arcs fade. If you're running a slow-burn narrative over weeks, expect to remind the character who's who. We rate memory 7.9 out of 10. Realism comes in at 8.9 out of 10.

Pricing

There's one documented paid tier, Premium, with two billing options. Anything you read about a "Deluxe" tier at $29.99 or $59.99 is unconfirmed; OurDream doesn't publish it.

Both paid plans include unlimited messages and the ability to buy extra coins. The annual plan front-loads 2,000 coins, which is 1,000 bonus on top of the first month's allowance. Coins don't expire and roll over, and they land at 2pm EST on your renewal date. We rate value 9.9 out of 10.

Top-up packs are reported at $11.99 for 1,000 coins, $49.99 for 5,000 and $159.99 for 20,000. Those figures come from third parties, not from OurDream, so check before you buy. Only subscribers can purchase coins at all.

The free plan is a demo, not a tier

Free accounts pay 1 dreamcoin per message and cannot generate images or videos, and they can't buy coins either. There's no time-limited trial. If you want to know whether the platform suits you, one month at $19.99 is the cheapest honest test.

Safety and privacy

OurDream has the right content rules on paper. The prohibited content policy bans underage characters including "loli" content, real-person likeness uploads, deepfakes and illegal material. An automated moderation filter scans chats, and the help center admits it can be "a bit too sensitive," so expect the occasional false flag.

On the technical side, the privacy policy states data is encrypted at rest with AES and in transit with TLS 1.3, on a hosting platform with SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports. Signup includes an 18+ attestation, and where required by law or risk assessment, third-party ID or facial age verification can be requested. No two-factor authentication is mentioned anywhere in the policies.

The encryption claim doesn't survive contact with the policy

The homepage FAQ says chats are end-to-end encrypted and that "not even us" can read them. The privacy policy says otherwise. It describes server-side encryption, states that information may be used to train AI and machine learning models, and confirms a moderation filter screens conversations. You can't have end-to-end encryption and server-side moderation at the same time. Assume the policy is the accurate document.

Retention is "as long as necessary" with no fixed periods. Popular public characters may stay active even after the creator deletes their account. OurDream says it doesn't sell personal information. Account deletion runs through Profile, danger zone, and processes in 24 to 48 hours, removing generations, unpublished characters, chat history and unused coins.

We rate privacy 6.9 out of 10. Use a handle, not your name, and never paste identifying details into a chat.

Refunds and cancellation

The refund policy was last modified in March 2026 and sets a 14-day window for defects or services significantly different from the description. You email [email protected] and the outcome is case by case, decided within about seven business days. Unused portions of a billing period are generally non-refundable.

Then the help center adds rules the policy doesn't spell out. Refunds are denied if more than 25% of the product was used. Monthly subscriptions aren't refunded once coins are used up; annual plans may get a full or partial refund. Crypto payments are final, always. Filing a chargeback without contacting support first can get your account suspended.

EEA, UK and Swiss users have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right, which can be lost once the digital service is fully provided. After any refund, your media is blurred and unused coins are removed.

Cancellation is straightforward: cancel anytime at ourdream.ai/profile and keep access until the period ends. But when the subscription lapses, every image and video you generated is blurred until you resubscribe. Download what you want to keep while you're paying.

Payment methods

Credit and debit cards, plus crypto. That's it. No PayPal, no Apple Pay, no Google Pay. If your card gets declined, OurDream suggests G2A prepaid codes. There are no official promo codes; the Discord runs giveaways instead.

Candy.ai undercuts OurDream on sticker price, but 100 tokens a month is a rounding error if you generate media. OurDream's 1,000 coins cover roughly 200 images. Secrets AI looks generous with 8,000 Moments until you notice a single video burns 600 of them, and group chat and Lorebooks sit behind its $39.99 Ultimate tier. For pure image and video output per dollar, OurDream wins. For chat-heavy use with strong memory, look at the other two.

Who should use it, and who shouldn't

Use it if you generate a lot of images and want video without paying per clip, if you enjoy building characters in detail, or if you want unlimited chat without watching a message counter.

Skip it if long-running narrative memory is the point for you, if you need PayPal or a native app, or if you can't tolerate media being held hostage behind a lapsed subscription. Skip it too if the encryption claim was the thing that sold you.

The practical move: pay for one month at $19.99, watch how fast coins disappear, download everything you make, and only then decide on the annual plan. Keep your real name and photos out of it. And treat it as entertainment, not a substitute for people.
