Who we are
FrongZoolio is a small, independent review site for AI girlfriend and AI companion apps. We started in 2023 because the category was growing fast and most information online was either promotional or outdated. We wanted a place that read the fine print: pricing pages, terms of service, privacy policies, and user reports. We don't claim to have tested every app ourselves. Instead, we gather published details and real user experiences, then write plain-language reviews that tell you what a platform does well, where it gets expensive, and who should skip it.
How we work
Our team is small: two writers and one editor. We spend our time reading documentation, comparing feature lists, and monitoring user forums and review sites for recurring complaints or praise. When we cite a price, it comes from the platform's own pricing page. When we mention a policy, we link to it or quote it. We update reviews when things change, and we note the date of the last update. We don't accept free accounts, we don't take payments for reviews, and we don't let partners see reviews before they go live. Our scores are based on a fixed rubric that covers realism, memory, images, video, voice, customization, value, privacy, and user experience. Each category is scored, and the overall score is a weighted average. We publish the rubric so you can see how we arrive at our numbers.

FrongZoolio earns money through affiliate links. When you click a link to a partner and sign up, we may earn a commission. That never costs you extra. It also doesn't influence our scores. We rank platforms by our rubric, not by payout rates. In fact, we often recommend free tiers or cheaper alternatives when they're better for most readers. Our editor has final say on all content, and writers are required to disclose any potential conflicts. We don't do sponsored reviews, and we don't sell placements in our rankings. If a platform isn't worth your money, we say so, even if it pays well.
