Muah AI vs Candy AI: Which Adult AI Companion Should You Pay For?
Muah AI and Candy AI both promise adult chat with pictures. One has better images and a cleaner privacy record; the other gives you more control...
Secrets AI is good at memory and roleplay, but the price and lack of a mobile app push people out. Here are the alternatives that actually fix your specific complaint.
Secrets AI is not a bad companion. We rate it 9.9 out of 10, and memory is its strongest suit. But the people who cancel usually cancel for one of five reasons. They think $19.99 a month is steep for a chat app. They want a real iPhone or Android app and find only a browser. They hit the free tier wall of 20 responses a day. They want group chat without paying $39.99 for Ultimate. Or they want better visuals per dollar.
That is the useful way to pick a replacement. Not "best overall" in some abstract sense, but the one that fixes your specific complaint. Below, each alternative is matched to a reason, with real prices from the pricing pages and the caveats that matter.
| Reason for leaving | Best pick | Fit | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| $19.99/month steep for images | OurDream AI | Unlimited chat plus 1,000 dreamcoins monthly, about 200 images | $9.99/month annual |
| Lowest annual price | Candy AI | Photorealistic images for $47.88 a year | $3.99/month annual |
| No App Store or Play app | Nomi, Kindroid | Native apps with long-term memory | $8.33/month Nomi annual |
| Group chat locked to Ultimate | CrushOn AI | Group chats on cheaper paid tiers | $5.99/month |
| Free tier: 20 messages, no images | Janitor AI, SpicyChat | Free roleplay with community character cards | Free |
| More appearance control | Nectar AI | Very detailed appearance and personality builder | $9.99/month |
| Gentler, less explicit | Replika | Emotional-support companion | $5.83/month annual |
| Platform | Best feature | Free access | Native app |
|---|---|---|---|
| OurDream AI | Cheaper images and videos | 1 dreamcoin per message, no images | No, web |
| Candy AI | Cheapest annual plan | 5 chat messages total | No, web |
| Nomi | Memory, mobile companions | Limited messages | iOS and Android |
| Kindroid | Voice and video calls | 50-message preview | iOS and Android |
| CrushOn AI | Cheap roleplay tiers, group chat | 100 message credits monthly | Not verified |
| Nectar AI | Character creation, roleplay | 15 messages + 10 generations daily | Not verified |
| Janitor AI | Free story roleplay | Yes | No |
| SpicyChat | Free character library | Yes, with queue | Android |
| Replika | Emotional support | Friend mode | iOS and Android |
| HeraHaven | Simple girlfriend roleplay | Limited | Not listed |
If your complaint is that Secrets charges $19.99 a month and then meters every image and video, OurDream AI is the closest match. Premium runs $19.99 monthly or $9.99 a month billed $119.88 yearly. That buys unlimited chat plus 1,000 dreamcoins monthly, which the site equates to roughly 200 images or ten short videos. Video costs 100 dreamcoins per five seconds, up to 60 seconds. Voice calls run 50 coins a minute.
The free tier is thinner than some guides claim. We have seen roundups say OurDream gives 50 free messages and five images a day. The data we can verify says 1 dreamcoin per message and no images on free. Trust the smaller number.
Two caveats. First, images and videos blur if your subscription lapses, so you do not keep what you made. Second, the homepage claims end-to-end encryption, but the privacy policy describes server-side encryption and allows data to train models. Those two statements do not agree. Read our OurDream AI review for the full breakdown.
Candy.ai wins on sticker price. Premium is $13.99 monthly, $8.99 a month quarterly, or $3.99 a month billed annually at $47.88 a year. Roundups still quote $4 to $6 a month; the current advertised rate is $3.99.
The catch is the token budget. Premium includes 100 tokens monthly, and an image costs about 4 tokens. That is roughly 25 images a month before you buy more. Heavy users report spending $25 to $80 a month on top-ups. The free plan is five messages total, not five a day. Refunds exist only within 24 hours, for card payments, with 20 tokens or fewer used.
Candy's memory is also weaker than Secrets. Testers report conversations resetting after two or three days. Some roundups claim video clips up to 120 seconds; we could not confirm that. If you want pictures and a low annual bill, Candy is fine. If you want a companion that remembers last week, it is not. Our Candy.ai review covers the token math.
No App Store listing for Secrets is a real problem if you mostly chat on a phone. Nomi has native iOS and Android apps and a reputation for long memory. It costs $15.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly, about $8.33 a month. One subscription supports up to ten companions plus group chats, which undercuts Secrets Ultimate on that feature.
Nomi allows explicit text but not nude images. If visuals are the point, look elsewhere. Credits start at $4.99 for 40, and one review says the platform allows sharing up to 40 images daily. Treat that number as a user report, not a spec sheet.
Kindroid is the pick if you want calls and a native app. Standard is $15.99 a month through the app stores, or $13.99 on the website as reported, and annual works out to $13.33 a month. It offers voice cloning, real-time calls, live video calls, and even iMessage and RCS texting.
The free option is a one-time 50-message preview, then read-only. The three-day trial requires a payment method. Voice packs cost 500,000 credits for $14.99, and Live Avatar video runs about 2,500 credits per minute on top of the call charge. Budget accordingly.
Secrets locks group chats of two or three companions behind Ultimate at $39.99. CrushOn AI offers group chats on cheaper paid tiers, starting at $5.99 a month for Standard and $14.99 for Premium. A top tier runs $199.99 a month; the price ladder is easy to overpay on if you are not careful.
Free users get 100 message credits monthly plus unlimited free models. Context is 8K on free and up to 24K paid. CrushOn is text-first, so do not expect strong images or video. It also deletes free conversation history after seven days of inactivity.
If your gripe is that Secrets characters feel samey, Nectar AI is built around a deep appearance and personality builder. Reviewers count 300+ options; roundups say over 350. Plans are $9.99, $19.99, and $34.99 monthly, with about 50% off annual. The free tier gives 15 messages and 10 generations daily.
Watch the top-ups. Reviewers report $60 to $75 a month at moderate use. Encryption and retention policies are not clearly documented, which is a problem for a platform this personal.
If the 20-message free tier at Secrets is the wall you hit, Janitor AI is genuinely free, including its own model; your own API key unlocks other models. Janitor+ launched in June 2026 at $12.99 a month with about five times the context and priority access. But Janitor has no images, video, voice messages, or calls.
SpicyChat is another free option with a large character library. Paid tiers are $5.95, $19.95, and $29.95 monthly after a September 2026 price rise. Free chat has no hard daily cap but sometimes a queue. The catch: free and $5.95 replies are capped at 180 tokens, and short or repetitive replies are the top user complaint.
Replika is not trying to be explicit. It is an emotional-support companion with annual pricing around $5.83 a month. Replika 2.0 adds voice conversations and real-time video calls, per its site. Romantic modes require a paid plan, and there is no explicit content.
Regulatory trouble is worth noting: Italy fined Replika's operator €5 million in 2025. If you want a softer companion and do not mind the limits, it is an option.
HeraHaven costs $19.95 monthly or $6.65 a month annually, with 500 Luna tokens monthly. Users report quality degrading after a few hundred messages. Refund terms are unverified. Kalon AI claims real-time voice without extra currency, image generation without a separate currency, and cross-session relationship history. Xotic AI roundups claim trait-based companions and 4K clips up to 15 seconds. Cherrypop.ai's blog says users shape character appearance and behavior. These are vendor or roundup claims we have not verified, so treat them as marketing until proven otherwise.
| Platform | Monthly | Best per-month | Media currency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Secrets Premium | $19.99 | $9.17 annual | 8,000 Moments |
| Secrets Ultimate | $39.99 | $26.67 annual | 15,000 Moments |
| OurDream AI | $19.99 | $9.99 annual | 1,000 dreamcoins |
| Candy AI | $13.99 | $3.99 annual | 100 tokens |
| Nomi | $15.99 | $8.33 annual | Credits |
| Kindroid | $15.99 app | $13.33 annual | Selfie and voice credits |
| CrushOn AI | $5.99 to $199.99 | Varies | Tier credits |
| Nectar AI | $9.99 to $34.99 | About 50% off annual | Credits |
Note on Secrets annual pricing: roundups claim a $13-a-month annual option. The official plan list has none. Premium annual is $109.99, about $9.17 a month; Ultimate annual is $26.67 a month with 15,000 Moments. Premium's 8,000 monthly Moments do not roll over. Subscriptions are non-refundable except where law requires, and crypto payments are never refunded.
Secrets remains strong here. It keeps per-chat Spice Level and Time Travel branching, and its Lorebooks are editable. Nomi and Kindroid are built for long conversation history, but neither has Secrets' editable Lorebooks. Candy resets after a few days per testers. OurDream's history leans on recent messages. CrushOn's free tier deletes history after seven days idle. If continuity is the reason you stayed with Secrets, only Nomi and Kindroid are serious replacements.
Secrets charges 50 Moments per image, 600 for an 8-second adult video, and 50 per minute for voice calls. OurDream is the value play for media: 1,000 dreamcoins monthly, roughly 200 images, with video at 100 coins per five seconds and calls at 50 coins a minute. Candy's tokens run out fast. Kindroid has the most advanced voice and video features but meters them separately. Janitor has none of it.
Secrets Ultimate unlocks personas, proactive messages, and personality editing, which Premium lacks. Nectar AI goes deeper on appearance options. CrushOn is cheap for roleplay and group chat. Janitor and SpicyChat have huge community character libraries but thin reply lengths on free tiers.
Secrets uses AES-256 at rest, deletes history immediately on account deletion, and does not store voice audio, but its data may train models. No platform we reviewed offers true end-to-end encryption. The 2024 Muah.ai breach exposed about 1.9 million email addresses plus prompts. Use a non-identifying email, avoid real names and photos, check your billing descriptor, and delete your account rather than just the app.
If your issue is price, OurDream AI or Candy AI will save money. If it is the app, Nomi or Kindroid. If it is group chat, CrushOn. If it is free access, Janitor or SpicyChat. If it is customization, Nectar. If none of those apply, Secrets remains one of the best companions and is hard to beat. OurDream AI for most people, because it matches the feature set with more images and videos per dollar. Choose Nomi if memory and a native app matter more than visuals.
Janitor AI and SpicyChat are free for text roleplay with community characters. No free option includes images, adult videos, or voice calls. Candy, CrushOn, and Nectar offer limited free access.
No. Secrets is a browser web app only. Nomi, Kindroid, and Replika have native apps.
Nomi and Kindroid are built for long conversation history. Neither has Secrets' editable Lorebooks.
Yes. Premium is $109.99 a year, about $9.17 a month, versus $19.99 billed monthly. Roundups claiming a $13 annual option are wrong; the official plan list has none.
