BlogCandy AI Videos: What You Get, What It Costs in Tokens

Candy.ai sells short companion videos in three forms: image-to-video, Live Action and pre-made Shorts. Here is what each one does, what it burns in tokens, and where the bill climbs.

Candy.ai videos are not a general AI video generator. Every clip starts from a companion bot or a custom character you already built. You cannot type a prompt and get a video from nothing. That single limit explains most of the confusion around the feature, and most of the disappointment too.

This page covers the three kinds of video on the platform, the token math behind each, the plans that include tokens, and the fine print on privacy and refunds. Prices below come from pricing pages and reviewer reports; anything we could not confirm is labeled as reported. We did not test the platform ourselves. We read the fine print so you don't have to. Full breakdown of the platform sits in our Candy.ai review.

The three kinds of Candy.ai video

Candy.ai is an adult AI companion platform, and its videos are short. There are three types, and they behave very differently.

TypeWhat it doesTypical costMain limit
Image-to-videoAnimates a still picture of your characterAbout 12 tokens (reported)No text-to-video from scratch
Live ActionInteractive video; the character moves in a small worldAbout 3x the picture token rate (reported)Selected characters only
Candy AI ShortsPre-made scripted videos to watchUnlocked with tokensWatch, not steer

Image-to-video

You generate a still picture inside a chat, then convert that picture into a short clip. The character keeps the same face across every video you make of them, which matters more than it sounds: continuity is the whole point of a companion. Reviewer reports put the cost at about 12 tokens per video. Older sources quoted 5 to 10 tokens, so treat 12 as the current working number, not a promise.

Because the video grows out of a still, the still decides the result. Bad lighting or a crowded frame in the picture turns into a bad clip. Get the image right first.

Live Action

Live Action is the interactive layer: the character moves inside a small scene rather than just animating a pose. One review says the feature shipped in February 2026. It has two modes, Automatic Story and Scenario, and clips reportedly run up to 120 seconds. Platform notes describe it as mobile-first, and the 330-token Premium Plus tier advertises Live Action with live audio.

Two catches. First, Live Action is limited to selected characters, so your favorite bot may not support it. Second, it burns tokens about three times faster than pictures. A single long clip can eat a meaningful chunk of a month's included tokens.

Candy AI Shorts

Shorts are scripted videos made by the platform team, each following a script. You unlock them with tokens inside the app and watch. There is no render wait and no steering. If you want to direct the scene, Shorts are not for you. If you want something to watch without spending on generation, they are the cheapest entertainment on the platform.

How generation actually works

Every video starts from a companion bot or a custom character. Characters have a look, personality, voice and hobbies, and come in realistic or anime style. Reviewers rate Candy's realism among the best in the companion market, and the video output inherits that strength because it is built on the same images.

The practical flow:

  1. Sign in and pick a token plan.
  2. Choose an existing character or create your own.
  3. Chat a while to set context and tone.
  4. Generate a picture in the chat.
  5. Convert the picture into a video.

There is no text-to-video path. You cannot prompt a clip out of nothing, and Candy is not a general AI video generator. If that is what you need, this is the wrong product.

Plans and token costs

Videos require a paid plan plus tokens on top of the subscription. That is the sentence to read twice.

ItemCostSource
Monthly billing$13.99Reviewers; matches official EUR page
Quarterly billing$8.99 monthly ($26.97)Same
Yearly billing$3.99 monthly ($47.88)Same

One pictureAbout 4 tokens (older: 2)Reported
Token top-ups$9.99 for 100 up to $299.99 for 3,750Reported, behind login

Do the arithmetic before you subscribe. A plan includes 100 tokens per billing month. At roughly 12 tokens per clip, that is about eight videos and nothing else, no pictures, no Live Action. The moment you mix in Live Action, which runs about three times the picture rate, the included tokens vanish fast.

Top-ups run from $9.99 for 100 tokens to $299.99 for 3,750, and they sit behind a login, so you will not see the full price list until you have an account. Media-heavy users reportedly spend $25 to $80 in total. The most common complaint is exactly this: videos cost extra after you have already paid for the plan.

Our take on value is unflattering at the entry tier and reasonable at the yearly tier: 8.2. We rate Candy.ai 9.8 out of 10 overall.

Cheapest sensible start for a frequent video maker: the yearly plan at $3.99 monthly plus one top-up. That covers the subscription and gives you a token buffer without committing to a $299.99 pack.

What the videos cannot do

  • No text-to-video. Clips grow from pictures or characters, never from a bare prompt.
  • No general-purpose video generation. This is a companion product.
  • Live Action is restricted to selected characters.
  • Long-term memory is thin, which reviewers flag as a weakness. Your character may lose context across sessions even while looking consistent on screen.
  • Download is unconfirmed. Some guides say you can save videos in high quality; the help center does not confirm it. Check your own account before counting on it.
  • There is no native app. Browser only, though it installs as a PWA.

Tips for better videos

  • Get the still picture right first. The clip can only be as good as the frame it starts from.
  • Keep prompts simple: one pose, one setting, one emotion per prompt.
  • Give the character a clear world and a short story if you plan to use Live Action.
  • Test one video before buying a big token pack. Twelve tokens is a cheap experiment; $299.99 is not.

Privacy, safety and the fine print

Candy runs under EverAI Limited in Malta, inside GDPR. Data is encrypted in transit, but no end-to-end encryption is claimed. The privacy notice says prompts and outputs may be used to train AI and moderation models, and human review of prompts and outputs is possible. Account data is kept up to three years after your last activity. You can delete data under Settings, Danger Zone. Charges show up as EverAI on your statement.

On content: explicit media is allowed of fictional adult characters only. Anything resembling minors is banned, and known CSAM is reported to NCMEC. Never create a video of a real person.

Practical safety: sign in only at candy.ai and ignore app-download links, because there is no native app to download. Turn off browser notifications on shared devices.

Refunds are narrow. Within 24 hours only, 20 tokens or fewer used, card payments only.

How Candy compares on video

PlatformVideo featuresCost per videoFree videos?
Candy.aiImage-to-video, Live Action, ShortsAbout 12 tokens (reported)No
OurDream AIVideos up to 60 seconds, optional audio100 dreamcoins per 5 secondsNo
Secrets AIAdult videos around a memory-focused companion600 Moments per videoNo

OurDream's math gets ugly quickly: 100 dreamcoins per 5 seconds means a 60-second clip costs 1,200 coins, while the $9.99 annual plan includes 1,000 coins monthly. It also blurs images and videos if your subscription lapses. Secrets AI charges 600 Moments per video, with 8,000 Moments on the $19.99 plan, and its free tier cannot generate videos at all. Its edge is memory, covered in our Secrets AI review.

If your complaint is cost, memory or character choice, our guide to Candy AI alternatives by complaint sorts the market by problem rather than hype. Direct matchups are also worth a look: Candy AI vs OurDream AI for media-heavy use, and Secrets AI vs Candy.ai if memory matters more than pictures.

A note on 'candy videos' searches

Some people searching for candy AI videos mean something else entirely: clips of actual candy. Hyper-realistic candy transformations, surreal candy worlds and impossible factory lines are a separate trend, built with general text-to-video tools and physics engines. ASMR candy clips focus on cutting, pouring and crunching sounds. Tool vendors push repetitive mukbang videos with surreal candy, StoryShort generates videos with visuals and voice-over, and Revid claims 30,000+ candy videos monthly, an unverified vendor claim. Those tools offer styles like 3D and cartoon.

None of that is related to Candy.ai. If you landed here looking for confectionery footage, you are in the wrong place.

Bottom line

Candy's videos are the most realistic companion clips you can get, and that comes directly from the strength of its images. Image-to-video is the cheapest useful option at about 12 tokens. Live Action is the most immersive but restricted and token-hungry. Shorts are for watching, not steering.

The 100 included tokens cover roughly eight videos, so plan on top-ups if video is your main use. The yearly plan plus one top-up is the cheapest way in. Skip Candy if you want text-to-video, long memory, or a native app. It does not have them.
